First Ever ‘E-Lok Adalat’ held in Karnataka.

    In the times of the Pandemic when the cases in the country have crossed more than 1.12 M .

    The High Court Legal Services Committee, Bengaluru conducted the first ever virtual Lok Adalat in the State, through video conferencing, becoming the second state after Chhattisgarh the first state to do so on 11th  July.

    The Bench of Lok Adalat comprised of the Chairman of the High Court Legal Services Committee, Justice Alok Aradhe, Karnataka High Court and Vijay Kumar Patil as Conciliator.

     31 cases were settled by the Bench pertaining to two insurance companies. It also granted compensation of Rs.62,95,000 to the victims of motor vehicle accidents.

    The press release further states that video conferencing was conducted with able support and guidance of Chief Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka and Justice Aravind Kumar.

    The release also urges the Litigants to make use of virtual Lok Adalat and strive to settle larger number of cases.
