Bhumi poojan of new Indian parliament building on December 10

    Lok Sabha speaker, Om Birla confirmed on Saturday that Prime minister Narendra Modi will attend the foundation stone ceremony on december 10, 2020.

    On the completion of 75 years of India’s independence, new session in both the houses will begin, that is on 15 August 2021. About the features of new parliament building Birla said, there will be approx. 888 seats for Lok Sabha members and more than 326 seats for Rajya Sabha members. The Lok Sabha hall will be able to accommodate 1224 members simultaneously. Speaker also asserted that new building will be “temple of aatmanirbhar bharat” that will showcase diversity of nation.

    It will be built in area of 64,500 sq.m at the expense of rs.971 crores. New building will be earthquake resistance. This project is awarded to Tata projects ltd. and design is being prepared by HCP design planning and management ltd.
